Unlike previous titles in the series, none of the Pokemon that were available prior to the start of Generation V can be obtained until the player has beaten Team Plasma, the theme for the main story. This adds to some of the mystery and feeling of unknown exploration that fans of the original Pokemon TV series and games had felt when meeting unknown characters for the first time. In the game, two players travel to Unova which is inhabited by different Pokemon those that you might not be familiar with. Released in North America in March 2011, this instalment to the Pokemon game series featured a huge array of 156 new Pokemon that were more powerful than the Pokemon on the older versions, and were the primary paired versions of Generation V.
